8 Ways to Make Your Backyard Oasis this Summer
It’s finally here, the Summer Season, and all the lighthearted energy that it may bring. I have been busy in my fairy garden, playing my harp, planting flowers, and I even moved my fairy statue out of storage and into the garden. I enjoy tapping into my senses to create a peaceful and calm serenity where I can go to meditate, play music, and just be.
Have you been feeling overwhelmed with all that is going on? I always turn to nature for grounding and some earth energy when I get in a place where I feel lost. It’s so easy to get stuck into this pattern with all that is going on in the world, but nature has always been my solace. I find using my senses of smell, sight, and taste helps with shifting my mood, so I added 3 small things to do when feeling out of sorts.
3 Things to Shift Your Mood this Summer:
Smell: Citrus and Floral Scents: Incorporate scented candles or diffusers with refreshing citrus or floral fragrances. These scents can enhance the summer ambiance and create a relaxing atmosphere.
Sight: Seasonal Centerpieces: Create seasonal centerpieces with flowers or fruits that are abundant in the summer. Use vases filled with sunflowers, daisies, or a bowl of fresh berries as a vibrant and fragrant focal point on your kitchen table.
Taste: Fresh Herb Garden: Create a small indoor herb garden on your windowsill or countertop. Grow herbs like basil, mint, or rosemary and use them for summer recipes. The greenery adds freshness and a delightful aroma to your kitchen. You can grow it with your own Tower Garden HERE.

8 Summer Backyard Design Ideas:
Outdoor Seating: Provide ample seating options for relaxation and socializing. Consider comfortable lounge chairs, hammocks, or outdoor sofas. Add colorful cushions and throws for a cozy touch.
Dining Area: Set up an outdoor dining space for al fresco meals. Choose a weather-resistant dining table and chairs. Add string lights or lanterns overhead for an enchanting atmosphere in the evenings.
Shade and Umbrellas: Install umbrellas, a pergola, or a canopy to provide shade during the hot summer days. This will make your outdoor space more comfortable and protect you from excessive sunlight.
Outdoor Kitchen or Barbecue: Enhance your summer entertaining by creating an outdoor kitchen or barbecue area. Install a grill, countertops, and storage for cooking utensils. Consider adding a bar or countertop seating for guests.
Refreshing Water Features: Install a small fountain, a birdbath, or a water feature to add a soothing and cooling element to your backyard. The sound of running water can create a serene and tranquil ambiance.
Outdoor Lighting: Incorporate outdoor lighting to extend your enjoyment into the evening. Use string lights, lanterns, or pathway lighting to illuminate the space and create a cozy and inviting atmosphere.
Playful Elements: Include fun elements like a backyard swing, a trampoline, or a mini golf putting green. These features can add an element of playfulness and entertainment for both children and adults. You can also create your fairy garden or a space to play horseshoes or a bullseye target. Have fun.
Fire Pit or Outdoor Fireplace: Install a fire pit or an outdoor fireplace to create a cozy gathering spot for cool summer evenings. Roast marshmallows, tell stories, or simply enjoy the warmth and ambiance.
Remember to consider your specific preferences, available space, and budget when implementing these ideas. Ultimately, the goal is to create a relaxing, inviting, and functional outdoor space where you can enjoy the beauty of summer and spend quality time with family and friends.
